Google adds Mario on Google Maps to accompany you on your journey!

Among all the top news stories, the one which will make all of us very excited is that our beloved gaming character, the classic Italian plumber Mario has finally made an appearance to Google Maps in honor to celebrate the National Mario Day!

Google broke this top news earlier on the 10th of March, the National Mario Day, and announced its partnership with Nintendo to make this Mario Day memorable to all its fans by letting their favorite moustachioed childhood character accompany them to their journey on Google Maps.

Not only this but this feature will be running live till the 16th of March on both iOS and Android. How cool is that?

Google encouraged every die-hard Mario fan to celebrate Mar10 Day (Mario, Mar10. Did you get it?) and wrote:

“Take a screenshot of your route and share it with @GoogleMaps on Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #MarioMaps”

Google also advised the excited-about-the-update drivers in a humorous way:

“Just remember to practice safe driving on the road—we don’t encourage throwing bananas or red shells at other drivers in real life!”

How to use the Mario update:

The first thing you need to do is update to the latest version of Google Maps.

Once you’re done with the update, click the yellow “?” at the bottom right in the app.

After that, you’ll get a prompt to enable ‘Mario Time’.

Once you turn that on, your navigation arrow will be replaced by your favorite Italian plumber in a red cart, ready to accompany you to your destination.

Previous fun updates on Google Maps:

Well, this isn’t the first time that Google has brought a fun update to Google Maps.

How can we not recall when they turned the app into a Pac-Man game for April Fools’ Day, or when they had previously inserted locations from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them to promote the movie?

Anyway, be sure to take advantage of this feature before it lasts and have an amazing National Mar10 Week!
