Alexa is Amazon’s cloud-based voice service available on tens of millions of devices from Amazon and third-party device manufacturers. With Alexa, you can build natural voice experiences that offer customers a more intuitive way to interact with the technology they use every day.
Alexa AI Director of Applied Science Ruhi Sarikaya has now advanced the technology of Alexa so that, it understands the commands of the user through contextual clues.
Amazon has been working for a long time, in improving Alexa’s functions. They are inducing self- learning techniques so that it can recover from the errors by itself. Alexa does not require any human notation.
According to Sarikaya:
Alexa uses the customer’s “implicit or explicit contextual signals to detect unsatisfactory interactions or failures of understanding.”
The contextual signals have a wide range. It ranges from the person’s previous history, the things they prefer, along with what skills of Alexa they use. It also ranges to the place in the house where the device is located. Furthermore, what kind of Alexa device is it.
By the help of this advanced technology, you can now have more natural conversations with Alexa. You don’t have to repeat the word “Alexa” to wake the machine. Nor do you have to carefully word your sentences so that the machine would understand the command. In simple, the conversations will be more natural. Almost as if talking to a human.
