A polio drive will begin in Balochistan on Monday. The Polio Vaccine is recommended in a 4-dose series in children at ages 2 months, 4 months, 6-18 months, and 4 through 6 years. The final dose in the series should be administered on or after the fourth birthday. And at least 6 months after the previous dose.
At a conference on Sunday, Coordinator of Polio Emergency Operation Centre Rashid Razzaq stated that all arrangments of the anti-polio drive in Balochistan are accomplished.
A five-day polio eradication campaign will begin start in the 33 districts of Balochistan. Furthermore, with the mission to for polio-drops to around 2.5 million around the age of 5.
Rashid Razzaq requested people from all walks of life. No matter which profession they belong to, to join hands and make this drive a huge success.
The children of today are the building blocks for the future. So it is necessary that their health is a priority. So that, they grow up to be healthy and fit. Polio is on the rise these days. The government is making efforts to make Quetta, Pishin and Kila Abdullah polio-free areas. As these parts have the most-reported polio cases. The children of this district are at the highest risk of polio. So these are the areas which are, at the moment, the center of attention.
There will be about 10,356 teams of vaccinators in the five-day drive. Also that, there would be 8,829 mobile teams, 951 camps in residential areas and 576 camps at entry points of the province.
