Apple now allows you to do what others haven’t allowed yet. The changes in guidelines have been noticed so far in the app store. Curiosity is still in the air for the implementation. Previously, the gift option was for paid apps only, now have an option for paid in-app content as well.
The changes noticed are visible in the guidelines, The mentioned content says:
“Apps may enable gifting of items that are eligible for in-app purchase to others. Such gifts may only be refunded to the original purchaser and may not be exchanged” while previously it stated clearly that apps should not directly or indirectly enable any of such feature.
The Feature will be for Game Lovers!
The fact of introducing this feature is likely to be favorable for the game lovers. Those who tend to spend a large amount for the game they love. The chances are more spending on the trending mobile games like Fortnite and PUBG, which are free to play and doesn’t only target the kids but men as well, which increases the chances of using the feature.
The trending games are more like an addiction to the users these days. And with this update, the whole targeted audience of users could be covered. Here a parent or uncle could give an in-app purchase gift to his son or any other kid they know.
Right now the implementation is not done, not even the option from where this in-app purchasing could be done is disclosed. Up till now the three-dotted option only pops up “Share app” or “More by this developer” and with few apps a “Gift app” option is also highlighted but the idea of alleging “Gift In-App Purchases” remains a question mark, as for how it will be appeared and implemented.
