Apple Unveils the Latest Version of its Mobile Operating System


Apple in its WWDC’17 in San Jose, California, announced the latest versions of operating system that runs on iPhones, iPods, and iPads called iOS 11.

iOS 11 contains the upgraded features of iOS 10 and new features too.

Those updates and new features include:

  • Apple has introduced new features for messages, with some new stickers and message syncing in iCloud
  • Apple Pay can be used for person-to-person transactions and you can transfer or receive money from friends and family using the messages app
  • Siri uses a more modified natural tone of voice and can also be used for translations from English
  • Siri also takes care of your topics of interest, specifically, news
  • Siri also offer word suggestion on your iOS keyboard based on your recent word lists
  • iOS will store and play videos and take up less space and it will work efficiently for you
  • A refresh to control center, you can also use 3D for more in-depths features and control from the new control features
  • Capture any frame of Live Photo and put in playback effects to Live Photos, like loops
  • If you’re watching video in landscape mood, switch to portrait mood and the video will use up the entire space
  • Apple Maps have detailed malls and airport floor plans with directories and search
  • Apple Maps will also show you speed limit and offers you lane guidance
  • A new feature ‘Do not disturb while driving’ will disable all your notifications and answer the sender that you’re driving
  • HomeKit will be able to control your speakers with devices that support AirPlay 2, as well as speakers connected to the latest Apple TV
  • Apple music can update you about what your friends (who uses the same app) are listening to
  • Third-party apps will be able to support integration with Apple Music
  • The App Store will be introduced with a more modern swipe-oriented interface
  • iOS will also support augmented reality AR applications
  • For iPad, there’s a new app switcher that resembles the App Dock on macOS and improves multi-tasking
  • Also for iPad, a new Files app is introduced to manage your files and other documents

iOS will be available to download in the fall 2017.
