According to a Bloomberg’s report, the South Korean tech giant is all set to launch its Bixby-powered smart speaker sometime in the first half of 2018 to go head-to-head with Google Home, Amazon Echo, and Apple’s upcoming HomePod.

The tech giant confirmed that it was working on a speaker in August; the actual plan is to get it to work with Bixby, and also connect other devices from its Korean brand. It’s said to be a screenless device, having a price tag of $200.If

If this device actually sees the daylight next year, it’ll be fairly late. Since players in the industry have already come up with a variety of such devices, and even third-party gadget brands have also started selling speakers powered by those companies’ voice-activated assistants.

The only company left is Apple: after introducing its $349 HomePod back in June with plans to launch it in December, the company recently noted that it’s delaying shipping until early 2018.

We are looking if the tech giant, Samsung can significantly make any changes in the smart speaker market with its upcoming device.
