The tech giant, Google is giving a happy ending to 2017 by showing short videos to users in its Google Photos app. The video collage feature, ‘Smiles of 2017’ makes a short video out of images stored in the Cloud. As the feature’s name itself suggests, the video will be showing only smiling captures of you from the app.
First discovered by Android Police, it’s still unknown whether the feature is rolling out to every user. Users can check if they have received the feature by tapping on the ‘Assistant’ tab in your app.
Needless to mention, Google Photo ‘Smiles of 2017’ includes massive use of machine learning, with which it recognizes photos with smiles among other faces.
With that said, the tech search giant announced earlier this month it will be eliminating one of the tabs from the Drive’s navigation bar at the beginning of 2018.
This certainly means users won’t have an access to the Google Photos tab from the Drive’s navigation bar. However, this doesn’t mean the service won’t have any photo-related functions.
Right now, clicking on the Google Photos in the nav bar lets users quickly filter and access the photos and videos. This tab can also be seen on the Android and iOS version of Drive.
Have you received the feature yet?
