Last night, Elon Musk unveiled Tesla’s first electric Semi Truck for which Musk claimed that it will “blow your mind clear out of your skull.”
It’s no wonder that the truck has really surprised us all but the real surprise would be if the truck lives to the hype it has created.
Moving on, in the event Elon instead of showcasing one truck, he showcased two of them. In his speech, he also talked about his two other lined up projects: SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket and a mile-long hyperloop tunnel to make people realize that Tesla aiming for something extraordinary.
The Semi Truck has a range of 400 miles in 30-minutes and Elon guarantees that the truck won’t break down for one million miles. He also says that this truck has semi self-driving capabilities.
“Its windshield is made of impact resistant glass. Jackknifing is prevented due to the Semi’s onboard sensors that detect instability and react with positive or negative torque to each wheel while independently actuating all brakes,” Tesla said.
The interior of the truck is quite amazing. The driver’s seat is mounted on the center instead on the left side for clearer visibility. The two touchscreens on both sides of the driver’s seat let you have access to navigation and blind spot.
“Tesla’s big rig also comes with built-in connectivity, which allows the truck to seamlessly integrate with the fleet’s management system to help with routing and scheduling.
Among its other high-tech features, the truck has Enhanced Autopilot which enables automatic braking, lane keeping, and lane departure warning,” Business Insider wrote.
The truck will hit the market in 2019 but customers who reserve their trucks now would get it much early.
