In the semi truck event of Tesla, Elon Musk surprised his fans with Tesla’s new second-generation Roadster.
The car is breathtaking and if it lives up to Elon’s claims then it will be the fastest car in the world with record-setting acceleration, range, and performance.
Roadster’s specifications are as following:
- Top speed over 250 mph
- Acceleration 0-60 mph in 1.9 sec
- Acceleration 0-100 mph in 4.2 sec
- Acceleration 1/4 mile 8.8 sec
- Seating 4
- Mile range – 620 miles
- Drive – all-wheel drive
- Torque – 10,000Nm
The Roadster base price starts at $200,000 with a base reservation of $50,000. Keep in mind that the first 1000 models sold will be the Founders Series models that will cost $250,000.
However, if Roadster lives up to the Elon’s claims of being the fastest car in the World then it will be a head-on challenge to all the expensive hybrid supercars that cost around $1 million to $3 million.
“The current competition of Roadster is with the hybrid supercars built by McLaren (P1), Porsche (918 Spyder), and Ferrari (LaFerrari) that cost around $1 million. Whereas, the Mercedes-AMG Project One and the upcoming Aston Martin Valkyrie cost around $3 million,” according to The Verge.
If Roadster becomes the quickest car in the world then the coming years are going to be a nightmare for other automakers.
The fastest Tesla car will begin its production in 2020. So reserve your Roadster now!
