Pakistan lost to India in the second semi-final which was played earlier today in Christchurch.
The match started with India winning the toss. The captain of the Indian team decided to bat first which definitely worked in their favor bagging them a spot in the final. The Indian batsmen scored vigorously runs after run though Pakistani bowlers’ were too very keen on their role and made several attempts to take wickets.
India showed a great match with Shubnam Gill remaining not out at 102 runs, while Prithvi Shaw scored 41 runs and Manjot Kalra successfully made 47 runs.
The team set a target of 272 runs against nine wickets for Pakistan. But our batsmen failed to combat against the score and were bowled out pretty soon after just 21 overs for 69 runs.
The highest scorer from Pakistani side was Rohail Nazeer who scored 18 runs while other batsmen couldn’t get into double figures. Indian bowlers were very quick to get the wickets with Arshad Iqbal who took 3 wickets against 51 runs and Musa who took four against 67. The best bowler was Ishan Porel who acquired four wickets in only six overs.
The final will be played between India and Australia.
