Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police launches a mobile app service on Thursday that guarantees maximum security to the people.
The Inspector General Police (IGP) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Salahuddin Mehsud launched a mobile app for the residents that will inform the police immediately about a crime happening within Peshawar.
The application is made in a way that it will automatically point towards the location of the crime scene on Google Maps.
The app is developed mainly for all android phones and its basic aim is to inform the police about all the crimes immediately so that they can take action over it instantly. With the app pointing out the location on the Google Maps, it will become fairly easier for the KP Police to reach the place of the crime and take appropriate actions.
Salahuddin Mehsud while launching the app said that the purpose of introducing the app is that with the help of technology, public service delivery can be improved. He said that this app would make reporting of a crime easy for the public and would help them to report every minor to major incident like robbery, snatching and bomb blasts.
He further added that the app promises the safety and security of the residents and would ensure that the police is involved in every minor incident in cases of emergency.
The Inspector General said that “By pressing one button, the police would automatically be notified promptly about the crime, and concerned police stations and city patrol forces will reach the site immediately”
This mobile app can be downloaded free of cost from the Google Play Store or from KP Police’s website easily in any android phone.
It should be noted that this mobile app offers contact numbers of all the city police stations and also a calling feature that can be used for free in case of an emergency.
