Yes, we do know that OnePlus announced that Android’s latest version: Android Oreo will be the OnePlus 3&3T’s last major Android update, but that doesn’t mean all update will stop there. The company has promised to release security patch updates, and yes, it has kept its promise with Oxygen 4.1.7.
Firstly, the update has taken the OnePlus 3&3T to the August security patch level, which actually puts the both phones a bit ahead of the company’s new flagship, OnePlus 5 when it comes to the security patch. Oxygen OS 4.1.7 also makes navigating the interface an active attempt, with some battery optimizations thrown into the mix for good measure.
Bug fixes were also considered in the latest update, with OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei saying that the update includes touch latency improvements, one of the issues OnePlus 3&3T users faced. The update also fixes an issue with Oxygen OS’ App Locker, which protects apps with a PIN code or password before accessing them, along with an exploit that neglects the App Locker in all.
Other fixes include calls no more randomly routed to the speaker by some third-party apps and videos no more having sound channel errors. Moreover, Oxygen OS 4.1.7 eliminates Hangouts from your OnePlus 3/3T if you have never updated it. If you want to keep the app around, just make sure you update it before installing the update.
