Nintendo has managed to sell enough Nintendo Switch console to make it the fastest-selling video game ever in the U.S, breaking the record already set by Wii. the Switch has sold over 4.8 million units in its first 10 months of availability.
We all know the console started off pretty strong because of its flagship game The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which accounts for the 55% purchase of the console. Also, Nintendo revealed that Super Mario Odyssey is on over 55% of Switch consoles, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe all has an ownership rate of over 50%. Certainly, marquee first-party software is the reason behind the increased demand for the consoles.
Nintendo seems to outperform throughout 2018 as well, and the overall performance should quickly outpace the lifetime sales of the Wii U.The game lineup for this year will be a major factor to determine the pace of console sales after the initial excitement of the Switch drops down a little.
