OPPO recently hosted a launch event to unveil its selfie-camera smartphone, OPPO F5.

We can say that it’s one of the flagship features is its AI Beauty Recognition technology.

With 20MP f2.0 front-facing camera, the company reassures that the device can smartly capture pro selfies. This is done by scanning more than 200 points on the subject’s face.

Oppo Malaysia product manager Ken Ng explained: “The AI Beauty Recognition technology simply emulates the abilities of a professional photographer, who would bring years of technical skills and experience when taking a portrait.”

According to the company, its AI Beauty Recognition setup can detect each individual’s complexion, age, and gender, and enhance the person’s face accordingly.

Oppo has also equipped the phone with facial recognition technology: You can unlock you your phone smartly with a face via front-facing camera. However, a user can still stick to thumb impressions to unlock.

The F5 sports a 16MP f1.8 rear camera and a 6-inch 2160×1080 2:1 aspect ratio display. The device comes with a 4GB of storage, 32GB of storage, an octa-core CPU, and a 3,200mAh battery that is said to last 12-hours.

And of course, the Oppo F5 is running Oppo’s own Color OS 3.2 and is available in gold and black colour options, for RM1,289.
