In an active attempt to attract tourism Pakistan will be using it’s film industry to cast a spotlight on the culture, diversity and the scenic beauty that the country has to offer. Stated by Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb during an interview.

Screen tourism is hoped to be the saving grace that helps people living abroad including Pakistanis, to fall in love with their country.

The minister talks about using screen tourism to eradicate any misconceptions foreigners might have about the women in this country as well. They want to prove that women in this country are not exactly victims of a male-dominated society and do not just sit in their homes. They can excel in any field and don’t hold back. 

Marriyum talkings about how Pakistan should be portrayed as a peaceful and loving nation and the film industry plays a vital role in setting that image. That is why it is crucial to carefully select the content we chose to show in our films.
