Thousands of people had come together at the historic Lancaster house in London to attend the Pakistan Fashion week.
Over the two day event, Pakistani fashion and culture were on display for all of the audience, bringing Pakistani designers in the limelight. Few even claimed to be pleased with the chance they were given to increase their customer base at this time since it’s ‘wedding season’ in Britain.
The Pakistan High commission and Riwayat, a company in the UK, had collaborated with geo news and the jung group to organize this massive event to celebrate the 70th Independence Anniversary of Pakistan by presenting their collections at the prestigious venue. It is from the same location that the Pakistani flag was sent over to Pakistan’s first ever mission at the Lowndes Square in London.
Riwayat’s Adnan Ansari said that the event was a solute to how much growth Pakistani fashion has achieved. Adding about how much progress the industry has made in the last decade, which is clearly demonstrated through the substantial amount of innovations in Pakistani fashion.
A vast number of leading designers were present at the event including Sana Safinaz, Maria B, Maheen khan, Umer saeed etc and their work was presented by leading Pakistani models including Fouzia Aman and Eshal Fayyaz on the runway. Along with these people, a large number of London-based diplomats and parliamentarians were present at the celebration.
Designer Maazjee paid tribute to the founding father of Pakistan, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah with a collection inspired by his clothing whilst the show was stolen my Maheen Khan and Shameen Ansari’s fusion collection of eastern and western designs.
