Did you know your phone is much dirtier than your toilet?
There’s no denying the fact that smartphone is like oxygen to everyone now, it goes whenever wherever you go. You take it with you on the city streets, on the subway, and into the bathroom. According to a research, on average a person unlocks his phone 80 times a day.
But think for a moment. When was the last time you cleaned your phone?
Your phone by far is the most disgusting thing containing lots of microbes and viruses making your phone even more filthy than your toilet seat. It has all the bacteria your hands have, it has all the micro organism that you breathe out while talking over the phone and what not?
According to Philip Tierno, a pathologist and microbiologist at the New York University School of Medicine, it’s not hard to find viruses and bacteria that live on the skin and in the respiratory tract, even the bacteria that live on the fecal matters.
It is being said that if those bacteria don’t make you ill, it also can not be neglected.
Studies found out that those bacteria don’t make us sick because the microbes are our own, but using a sick friend’s phone can definitely make you sick.
Philip recommends everyone to at least clean your phones every day.
“It is wise to periodically clean your phone,” he said “I [clean] mine at the end of each day with just a wipe.”
Although, mobile companies don’t encourage you to use harsh cleaners like alcohol but microbiologists say that antibacterial wipe occasionally won’t hurt.
