The 64 years old, Tomorrow never dies, star is in trouble for allegedly endorsing Pan Bahar, an addictive form of chewing tobacco manufactured in India.
The ad first appeared in October in India which spread shock and rage like wild fire. The fans worldwide were shaken to the core when they saw their favorite actor promoting a product dangerous to health.
However, Peirce Brosnan quickly declared that the company has made an unauthorized use of his image by telling him that this product was in fact a tooth whitener/ mouth freshener prior to the shooting. He said the contract he signed had clearly mentioned that this advertisement was to prop up their breath freshener.
While giving interview to People Magazine Brosnan stated, ‘As a man who has spent decades championing women’s healthcare and environmental protection, I was distressed to learn of Pan Bahar’s unauthorized and deceptive use of my image to endorse their range of pan masala products’
Authorities in India have summoned the 5th James Bond to appear in court and enlighten why was he in this ad endorsing a fatal item for consumption. Officials say he could be fined $78 which convert to be 5000 Indian rupees or go to jail for 2 years if he fails to respond within 10 days.
