LAHORE : The Punjab Government is shown to attach high importance to building on its youth through sports by allotting a total of Rs. 8.507 billion in the 2017-2018 provincial budget.
The meeting of the provincial cabinet was presided over by Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at 90 Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam. The meeting gave formal approval to the budget for the fiscal year 2017-18. The meeting was attended by different provincial ministers, special assistants, advisors and others.
This amount of investment shows a large increase compared to the 2.542 billion in the last year. The main focus of the investment will be sports and youth affairs through youth events, exchange programs, awareness of youth development and growth, construction of playgrounds, infrastructure, stadiums, sports complexes etc.
The focus of this department is on creating a large number of talented Pakistani youth who contribute towards the economic and social development and who serve the nation through sports and healthy activities. They’re also trying to provide better employment opportunities for the underprivileged population by training the youth for productive skills.
