Well well, we all can see the reputation of the two leading brands of the world going down slowly.
According to the Harris Poll Reputation Quotient poll results released on Tuesday, Google Company’s rank has dropped from 8th to No. 28 this year. Also, the iPhone flagship Apple’s position has dropped from the 5th to No. 29.
The Harris Poll Reputation Quotient survey is a survey that is conducted annually, looks at the reputation of all the corporate brands of the world.
According to the previous surveys, Apple had ranked No. 2 in 2016, almost two years ago. Since then, Apple has been losing its ranking every year. The brand was ranked No. 5 in 2017 and has been ranked on the 29th position this year. This apple news has greatly harmed the company’s reputation on a large scale.
Like many other survey polls, this poll is being conducted since 1997 in which they look upon the financial performance, emotional appeal and products and services of every reputable brand.
The survey was conducted between the 11th of December and the 12th of January by 25,800 adults living in the US to determine the most reputable brand of the year.
So, the brand that scored the first position was none other than Amazon.com. Amazon has been glued to this position and has been ranked No. 1 since the past five years, except for 2015. The brand that held the second position is Wegmans Food Market Inc. While the brand holding the third position is Tesla, which is certainly a breaking news for all.
Why Google Company and Apple scored a low position:
One of the major reasons why the positions of Apple and Google Company fell is that both of the brands lacked in introducing eye-grabbing products and services in the past few years. This statement was made by the CEO of the Harris Poll, John Gerzema in an interview with Reuters.
“Google Company and Apple, at this moment, are sort of in valleys,” Gerzema said. “We’re not quite to self-driving cars yet. We’re not yet seeing all the things in artificial intelligence they’re going to do.”
