The former Pakistan captain Mr Salman Butt arrived Bangladesh in order to play his first complete competition outside the homeland after serving a 5-year ban for spot-fixing.

He was cleared by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to play in the latest edition of Dhaka Premier League.

Butt has to commit to a full season for the local giant Mohammedan sporting club. Wasim khan said that they are in need of left handed opener and Butt was the fit hence his past should not be an issue.  He has served his time and it was a while ago, the ban must not be an issue, he has scored many runs and that is more important.

The trio of Butt, Muhammad Asif and Amir admitted their fault and served their time in England’s prison for 5 years. The ban ended on September 1st 2015.

Investigation was still going on by the ICC anti-corruption unit before Salman headed towards Bangladesh.
