Samsung, the tech giant, never fails to surprise the world with its amazing developments be it a new design of phone or anything, it is always on the top of its game. Earlier today the company unveiled the world’s largest ‘Solid state device’ which has a whopping 30.72 terabytes of storage space.
This SSD has the most storage ever featured into a 2.5 inch form factor and it has been specifically made for next generation enterprise customers who are planning to drift away from the mechanical parts of standard disk based hard drive.
Adding to the over the top capacity, this latest enterprise SSD by Samsung is molded to function nearly twice as much as the one that came previously. The drive has a 12GBps SAS interface with random read and write speed of about 400,000 input/output operations per second (IOPS).
One of the many attributes of this device includes that it is very robust with a five year warranty tagged along with it.
The executive VP of memory sales in Samsung, Jaesoo Han said in a statement that Samsung will ‘continue to move aggressively in meeting the shifting demand toward SSDs over 10TB’
This is indeed a giant capacity of storage and we can’t wait to have this amount of storage space in our phones too someday.
