Snapchat has stepped into the world of mapping so you can know what’s happening, find your friends’ location, or browse images from specific locations around the globe including any breaking event. More specifically, it will enhance your closest connections.

Snapchat has announced its new map feature called Snapmap today. It will let Snapchat users share their locations with each other.  You can simply pinch to zoom out to head over the map mode, and it will also let you decide whether to share your location or not. You can disappear from the map using Ghost mode.

Actionmoji will appear to update you if your friends will share their locations with you.

“In a lot of ways, we’re taking what a map is and turning it upside down,” Snap product designer Jack Brody told Refinery29 about the update. “This map isn’t about where am I, it’s about where are my friends and what are they up to? It’s not about figuring out how to get to your destination, but about discovering where you want to go.”
