Yes, Snapchat has come with another update. This time around, it is collaborating with college newspapers to produce stories of its Discover Stories section.
Snapchat has already approached and tested stories in some renown universities such as Dartmouth, UCLA, the University of Washington, Yale, and Stanford – as quoted by Business Insider.
This is the first time Discover is opened to less established media companies. Also, the stories will be identical to the ones made by publishers of BuzzFeed, The Daily Mail, The Newyork Times, and Vice. Plus, the forthcoming campus edition can only be seen by the people in each respective college.
Plus, Snapchat will be showing hyper-localized versions to its users, but the forthcoming campus edition can only be seen by the people in each respective college.
Furthermore, there’s a difference between Discover Stories and Snapchat’s Campus Stories. Discover Stories will only be made by the student journalists and editors of each college campus, unlike Snapchat’s Campus Stories in which any individual could capture the event and update the Campus stories.
Colleges will start creating stories for Discover in the upcoming fall from all across the US.
