Two international airlines have announced to upgrade WiFi connectivity on their flights.

The Cathy Pacific Group will provide GoGo’s 2Ku satellite-based broadband technology starting in 2018 and Emirates has partnered with Thales to bring 50Mpbs connectivity to its Boeing 777X fleet in 2020, as reported by Engadget.

Whereas, in January JetBlue, the domestic carrier in the US has rolled out Fly-Fi, its high-speed internet service on all of its flights. On October 1st, Delta Airlines have offered free Gogo WiFi access to its passengers to have access to Whatsapp, Messenger, and iMessage.

Now Netflix is planning to team up with airlines to provide them its mobile technology since in-flights WiFi only supports low bandwidth activities.
