Elon Musk continues to push the boundaries of current technology and now it seems his brain child company, Space X, is all set to provide an Internet connection all over the world!
After making headline this past month with one of the most significant rocket launches in history, Space X is once again ready to launch their Falcon 9 rocket. The Falcon 9 was launched yesterday, the 22nd of February 2018, and it marks the start of a series of rockets to be launched by Musk’s company which will provide global internet, connecting the world in a truly unique fashion!
An astronomical 12,000 satellites are to be launched, creating a man-made constellation orbiting Earth! Named Starlink, the Project aims to have 7500 satellites and 4400 satellites orbiting 200 and 700 miles above Earth respectively. This whopping figure will enable Space X to provide internet coverage everywhere on the planet at once! Starlink’s financial projections are hopeful that the new system will be popular with the international audience and help generate them $30 billion annually along with an optimistic subscriber count of 40 million by 2025.
