Yesterday, as soon as the dawn broke in, people set their eyes on the sky to get a glimpse of the rare Super Blue Blood Moon which was already in the news before it showed up.
It was first time in about 150 years that a lunar eclipse of this sort was observed in most parts of the world. This rare celestial combination of red, blue and supermoon was sighted in US and Asia but Africa, UK and Europe were deprived to have a look at it.
It began from Britain, where the moon showed up 14% bigger than its usual size and appeared very bright on Tuesday. This was followed by the Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse which was a very imposing sight and people were very intrigued by it.
The name of this rare lunar eclipse, Super blue blood moon, has nothing to do with the color of the moon. It wasn’t bloody because it showed a very light tinge of red color which looked more orange to be honest. And it’s called blue moon because it is the second full moon in the calendar month.
A similar type of eclipse is expected to happen in U.S. in 2019. Whereas, the next immediate lunar eclipse will happen on July 27th this year which will be visible to countries across the globe in Asia, Africa, South America and Europe. However it will not be sighted in North America.
