Uber has stepped up for a good cause of fighting back against the horrific racket of Human Trafficking. The initiative took place by doing the partnership with Polaris, which struggle against the same cause.
Uber Safety Communications Lead Tracey Breeden said in a press release.
“Working together with our national partners, we will utilize our innovation and technology along with the scope and scale of our global community to commit to helping prevent and raise awareness and empower community heroes. Together we can help disrupt and end human trafficking in the cities we serve.”
But Uber has not stopped here yet, it has also taken one more step further by cutting deal with Thorn – an organization who work for the protection of children from child abuse.
Thorn CEO Julie Cordua said in a statement.
“Partnering with Uber is an opportunity to ensure that we are attacking this issue from all sides, and today we are empowering drivers to provide help to those in crisis. When we work together we can build a world where every child can be a kid.”
Uber has not only collaborated with these organizations for the social cause, but also the company plans to give education to their drivers about recognizing any signs of human trafficking or any suspect in this regard and report it to the National Human Trafficking Hotline .
