Whatsapp Has Stopped Working On Nokia S40 Phones
Whatsapp is an amazing social media app which helps people in connecting with each other. It has announced the end of support for multiple devices a few years ago. The multiple devices include the BlackBerry 10, BlackBerry OS, Nokia Symbian S60, Windows Phone 8.0, Nokia S40, Android versions 2.3.7 and older, iPhone iOS 7 and older versions of it.
Why Has It Stopped Working?
Whatsapp does not plan to invest it’s time and money in giving services to these platforms and it will stop working on all of them by 2020.
It already doesn’t work with devices that run on Nokia Symbian S60, BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, and Windows Phone 8.0 OS. After December 31, WhatsApp has also stopped working for devices that run on Nokia S40.
The Nokia series 40 was one of the most popular and widely used phones, a couple of years back. But the industry is constantly evolving and inventing, so new phones have downright replaced the old ones.
WhatsApp states that devices that run on Nokia S40 won’t be able to use Whatsapp after December 31. This was expected to end in June of 2018. Furthermore, Whatsapp decided to extend it till December, bringing a wave of relief to a small number of Nokia S40 users.
It is predicted that the number of people affected by the change will be very few. And the Nokia S40 is extremely old. The wide range of iPhones, at the time, are the most prominent and famed.
The app will stop working on phones running Android 2.3.7. And older (Gingerbread) and iPhone 3GS/ iOS 6 from February 1, 2020.
Finally, to all the users, who get affected by this change. If WhatsApp is your main source of communication, you might as well take advantage of this situation. And go, get yourself the latest, chic phone with the best features!
