Last year, Facebook rolled out its coloured status option. Now, Whatsapp is testing the same coloured text status in its Status tab. As Android Police reported, the coloured status is a part of WhatsApp beta version 2.17.291.

Users who are enrolled into Whatsapp official Play Store Beta program should get an early access. Some report notes that this feature testing might be a server-side test, which means that the new update might not be readily accessible even the users have the latest version of the app.

WhatsApp will purportedly include another floating pencil button over the camera icon in the Status tab. Users can tap on the icon to upload coloured text status. WhatsApp will give users three alternatives – to include emojis, select a textual style, and change the background colour.

Last year, Facebook rolled out its coloured status feature. It let users add colours to the status’ text. Facebook has ten colours to choose from: white, yellow, yellow and orange gradient, red-orange, green and blue gradient and, more. It is yet to see what options Whatsapp has to offer in its new feature update.
