What a match! Peshawar Zalmi the defenders of the PSL winners title and the all-the-time-on-their-A-game Quetta Gladiators worked quite a magic in the Sharjah Cricket ground. The defending champions were lucky enough and played like true warriors to claim back the trophy. Sarfraz’s team too tried all its might to play their part in putting forward an excellent match to the show. After a thrilling and an equally nail biting match, the Zalmis won and increased their score in the points table.
Peshawar Zalmi’s captain and our all time favorite Darren Sammy is already winning hearts all across the world for his excellent performance in the game, his over the top entertaining celebration style and his cute efforts of talking in Pashto. He won the toss and elected to field first which turned out to be completely in his favor.
The Gladiators set up a target of 142 runs for the Zalmis in the mid-table clash.
Umaid Asif, Darren Sammy and Wahab Riaz took two wickets each while Sameen Gul managed to get one in his four over quota. The match at its initial state seemed to be very easy for the Gladiators though. The men in purple set up a good start with Shane Watson scoring 47 off 32 balls including five sixes and one four. They managed to score 141 with their extremely confident team which has made quite a comeback after the last match.
The second innings began with an early dismissal of Kamran Akmal and Dwayne Smith. This broke the hearts of all the Zami fans a bit. But soon their team gripped a breakthrough in their performance. And credits to Sammy’s brilliant captaincy and his outstanding performance as well as the brilliant efforts and batting of his team, Zalmis took charge and won the match!
